6. Question of the Week

Q: I am getting jagged edges when downloading your clipart.

A: What was causing the jagged edge for this user was downloading the image with an aol browser. What aol does when you download an image is it converts the image to what is called an art file rather than what would normally be a gif file. This conversion caused the jaggedness.

If you are running aol and you are finding a similar problem try the following:

Start your aol as per normal. Instead of going to our webpage immediately, minimize the aol browser(the program you are looking at the internet with) by clicking on the _ in the top right corner of the window. If you have trouble finding the minimize button, look for an x in the top corner and the minimize is two squares away from it. Once you minimized the aol browser, you can close the other screens until you see the desktop. If the question comes up, remain connected to the internet. Start up Internet explorer. Internet explorer is a blue e on newer computers or a planet on older computers. If it is not in sight, PC users can try pressing the 'start' button, then selecting 'programs', and it should be on the menu. You may get a connection wizard screen the first time, answer the questions as 'use current connection' 'dial in'. Once you have internet explorer running, there is a long bar that has an address that starts in the form of http. Type in that box, our address of either http://www.FreeClipArtIsland.com, http://www.ClipsAhoy.com or http://www.ClipArtIsland.com and find the clipart you want.

Right click and download the clipart with Internet explorer and you will find that the clipart will look like it is supposed to without the jagged edges.
